Upcoming Wedding, Need a Dress.

Wedding bells are ringing! My uncle was going to get married. They got engaged in March 2015 and had their wedding date for December 2015. Wow, that’s only 9 months to plan a wedding! We had a lot of searching to do.

Everyone was excited for this wedding; I was excited because it meant it was time to go dress shopping. Than search began, I started to look at styles online. Did I want a long or short dress? That was the first question I had to ask myself.  In my opinion, depending on the occasion you should pick the style of the dress.

For this particular family event, I wanted a long dress. I’ve searched online for ideas.  I also looked at past dresses that I’ve wore before so that I didn’t buy something similar to previous dresses.

It is very important that when searching for the perfect dress you feel comfortable wearing it. You want to be able to dance and walk comfortable for many hours. In the past I’ve worn dresses that were so uncomfortable that I couldn’t enjoy the party. What style do you like?  Elegant, fancy, or simple dress? I’ve always liked to go fancy, that’s just my style.

Having in mind a long fancy dress, I knew the right place to look at which was “Group USA.” This store has so many choices to pick from. You will find any style, colors, designs, prices etc. I started with dark colors, then light colors, to see which colors complemented with my skin. Month after month I went to Group USA searching for that special dress. Finally, in November 2015, I found the perfect one. I fell in love with it. But there was a problem it was over my budget.

Is it worth purchasing a dress that I would only wear once at a high price? But it was so beautiful and it fit perfectly. I also had to think about my hair and makeup. I wanted a professional to do my makeup. It was pricy, but as they say “good things are costly.”

After looking at all the dress choices and prices I decided I was going for the one I fell in love with even though it was over my budget. It was a big event and the dress was so worth it. I couldn’t wait to wear it!

Something to remember when dress shopping:
·      Always search for alternatives, don’t buy the first time you go searching for a dress.
·      Try different colors.
·      Ask for family/friends opinion.
·      Look at dresses outside of budget.
·      Try new styles that you would never think of wearing. (It might be the one!)

Here is a link for prom dress shopping which has the same basic steps when searching for a dress for an upcoming wedding.

Did you love the dress you picked for a family event? If you had another opportunity would you pick the same dress? Tell me your dress story!

    1. I know exactly how you feel! I plan to wear this dress again, I just Love it!! After I wear it one more time I want to cut to make it short. So I can wear it as a short dress.

  2. Suit shopping can be exhausting as well! I like the chunked text as it made your post easily readable. The bullet point list and the bold text also drew attention to some of the more important aspects of the post. Good work.
