What to Buy When Going on Vacation to a Beach.

Have you ever been excited to go out of town? I know I have! I work full time and go to school full time, so I barley have any free to go out of town. A couple months ago, I decided I was going to the beach with some friends. But not just a beach, I was going to travel out of the country. It was going to be a fun getaway.

I have never traveled to a beach out of the country. To be honest, I had no clue on what to purchase. Of course I knew I had to buy bathing suits. The essentials that I needed to buy was a lot of sunscreen because my skin is very delicate and I burn easily. I asked a couple of friends that have gone to the same beach to gave me some ideas on what to take. Some things were hats, shorts, loose shirts, a lot of sunscreen, sun glasses, beach towel, waterproof cell phone case, camera etc.

As time went by I kept buying more things like tooth paste, traveling shampoo and conditioner, razors, aloe vera for sun burns etc. I had 3 months to make sure I purchased everything I needed for this vacation. I’ve been on trips where I only had a month in advance notice and it was so frustrating trying to find everything I needed.

While purchasing the essentials I did think about outfits that I needed to wear outside of the hotel; things such as beach dresses, casual clothes, and going out dresses. Did I want to spend more money on buying all new outfits or did I want to wear something that I already had and only wore once? It was a hard decision since I loved the beach dresses I already had and the casual clothes. What I ended up doing was buying two going out dresses and one more casual outfit. It was enough outfits for the whole week I was going to be gone. I was worried I was going to forget to buy something that I needed.

Once I had everything I needed, I knew it was time to look for the adventure part of my trip. I needed to look for the activities we were going to do. Also, look at the places we were visiting and the cost of each activity. After all, that searching I had everything planned out. I was ready to go on my vacation!

Look at the check list on what you need to take when going on vacation.

I couldn’t wait for the adventure! What do you buy when going on vacation, leave me your comment.

Purchasing Bathing Suits For Summer

Have you ever had to purchase several bathing suits all in one summer? I know I’ve never have until this year. Every time I purchase a bathing suit, I use it once or twice during the first year and reuse it again for the following year. But this year is an exception because I’m going on vacation. I don’t think I would be washing the same bathing suit over and over while being on vacation. So, I decided that I was going to buy 5 bathing suits.

The search began, I went to “Victoria Secret” and saw a teal color bathing suit which I should say teal is my favorite color. I just had to try it on. I went into the fitting room and it was “perfect.” This bathing suit was a two-piece set. I was looking for was three two piece sets, and two whole piece suits. I did not want to pay top dollar for these bathing suits since I know that they rapidly go out of style and I will only wear them a few times.

I had gone to Nordstrom and they had very few styles and were very expensive. I was not going to buy one bathing suit for $115. As time went by I kept searching different stores in the mall. Not only did I have to get bathing suits but also had to purchase accessories for my vacation.

I’ve noticed that it was so much better for me to buy the things I needed months before hand because I don’t have to rush last minute. Just in case I didn’t find what I needed, I would have more time to look at different alternatives.

I just can’t wait for my vacation and to use my new bathing suits! Look at some bathing suit options for this summer.

Now, I have to ask have you purchased many bathing suits just for one trip? Were the expensive ones a better pick?

Upcoming Wedding, Need a Dress.

Wedding bells are ringing! My uncle was going to get married. They got engaged in March 2015 and had their wedding date for December 2015. Wow, that’s only 9 months to plan a wedding! We had a lot of searching to do.

Everyone was excited for this wedding; I was excited because it meant it was time to go dress shopping. Than search began, I started to look at styles online. Did I want a long or short dress? That was the first question I had to ask myself.  In my opinion, depending on the occasion you should pick the style of the dress.

For this particular family event, I wanted a long dress. I’ve searched online for ideas.  I also looked at past dresses that I’ve wore before so that I didn’t buy something similar to previous dresses.

It is very important that when searching for the perfect dress you feel comfortable wearing it. You want to be able to dance and walk comfortable for many hours. In the past I’ve worn dresses that were so uncomfortable that I couldn’t enjoy the party. What style do you like?  Elegant, fancy, or simple dress? I’ve always liked to go fancy, that’s just my style.

Having in mind a long fancy dress, I knew the right place to look at which was “Group USA.” This store has so many choices to pick from. You will find any style, colors, designs, prices etc. I started with dark colors, then light colors, to see which colors complemented with my skin. Month after month I went to Group USA searching for that special dress. Finally, in November 2015, I found the perfect one. I fell in love with it. But there was a problem it was over my budget.

Is it worth purchasing a dress that I would only wear once at a high price? But it was so beautiful and it fit perfectly. I also had to think about my hair and makeup. I wanted a professional to do my makeup. It was pricy, but as they say “good things are costly.”

After looking at all the dress choices and prices I decided I was going for the one I fell in love with even though it was over my budget. It was a big event and the dress was so worth it. I couldn’t wait to wear it!

Something to remember when dress shopping:
·      Always search for alternatives, don’t buy the first time you go searching for a dress.
·      Try different colors.
·      Ask for family/friends opinion.
·      Look at dresses outside of budget.
·      Try new styles that you would never think of wearing. (It might be the one!)
